Mark 12 & Luke 21 – The Widow’s Mite or Matthew 25:14-30 - Servants and the Talents
Preparing for this craft and lesson made me think of an incident that occurred in my church many years ago. I was seated behind a friend who had brought her granddaughter of about 4 or 5 years to Sunday service. Before the collection plate was passed, the lady gave her grand daughter a dollar for contribution. When it came time to put the dollar in the plate, the child held it tightly in her fist and pronounced very loudly that it was her dollar and she was not giving it to anybody. Rather than make a scene my friend passed the plate down the pew. I started thinking, isn't’t that just the way we are. God gives generously to us, if we hold his gifts and don’t give back to Him, we miss out on even greater blessings that he has in store for us.
